Use this mild cleansing wash to prep the area before hair removal. This cleanser benefits from the antibacterial properties associated with tea tree oil. After the sugaring wax is removed, use witch hazel to soothe the area.
Both the tea tree cleansing wash and witch hazel are available in retail size, so if your client loves them, it’s an excellent opportunity to sell them the product to continue to use at home! This extra level of aftercare adds another great level to your customer service.
You can also have your branding added to these beauty products. This can help strengthen your branding, keeping you in your clients’ minds and also looks fab on your salon shelves.
Familiarise yourself with all types of sugaring wax. This way, you can offer sugaring to remove hair and answer the question, “What is sugar hair removal?” You’ll feel confident recommending this treatment and keeping your clients fully informed.
Sugaring is a type of hair removal named after the paste itself. It is an all-natural product; the ingredients are typically lemon, water and sugar. The sugar doesn’t stick to the skin, so it only removes hair. When sugaring, remove hair in the same direction that it grows. Many people find sugaring less painful than waxing. For this reason, it is popular for intimate waxing like the bikini line.
This natural product is gentle on the skin and completely vegan, so you can advertise these treatments as cruelty-free to your clients. It is also more environmentally friendly than wax, so it is a great alternative to other hair removal products if your salon has a sustainable focus.
Different types of sugaring wax are available according to your needs. These vary by consistency:
Ideal for use with strips and handwork
This is the most popular sugaring wax paste, as it can be used for hand and strip work. If you’re looking for a one-size-fits-all solution, this is the perfect sugar paste to invest in.
Firm paste is ideal for hand work, and you can get a good grip on the solution to remove it. The firmer pastes are also ideal in warm climates as they will hold their consistency better than a soft paste in the heat.
The firmest option we have, hard paste, is also great for hand work. It’s common, especially in warm climates, to avoid melting. Hard paste is also great to have on hand for rescuing very soft paste! You can add a little hard paste to firm up the consistency of your sugar paste if it’s becoming too loose.
This very soft paste is designed specifically for use with strips.
As well as stocking up on sugaring wax, ensure your clients are sitting or lying in the right position during a salon sugaring wax treatment on a beauty couch you can adjust. This will help you easily access the area you’re working on and help reduce the risk of strains and sprains, including back pain.
