Description
The No.14 blade is commonly used in aesthetic procedures like dermaplaning, a technique that gently resurfaces the skin’s top layers through controlled surgical scraping, effectively exfoliating the epidermis. It is often paired with the smaller, more rounded 10R “butter blade”
Dermaplaning can be performed on targeted areas or the entire face and may be used alone or alongside treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or fluorescent pulsed light (FPL). When done before other procedures, dermaplaning removes fine vellus hair (“peach fuzz”), which can trap dirt and oil, allowing for deeper penetration of skincare treatments.
This non-invasive technique enhances skin smoothness and boosts the effectiveness of other treatments.
